Access Statement

Knockhatch Adventure Park is open to everyone, and we want to let as many people as possible discover just how exciting a day out at our Park can be.

To that end, we have a number of accessibility options in place so that our disabled visitors can get just as much out of their day as everyone else. From the Owl Sanctuary, the wide variety of farm animals, our shows and the fun of some of our attractions, Knockhatch Adventure Park is an experience that’s truly one of a kind - and we want everyone to enjoy it.

Entry, Membership and Pricing

  • Everyone pays to enter the Park or for an Annual Pass. We offer a discounted Day Ticket or discounted Annual Pass for a person with disabilities (2yrs+) and a discounted Day Ticket or Annual Pass for the person with disabilities carer (18yrs+).
  • Person with Disabilities and Person with Disabilities Carers: Evidence of DLA/PIP payments must be provided to be able to purchase a Person with Disabilities Day Ticket/Annual Pass or a Person with Disabilities plus one or two Carers Day Ticket/Annual Pass (the evidence must be dated within the last 2 years). Evidence must be shown to staff at the entrance. If evidence is not brought or not in date the full charge will apply.
  • If purchasing a Person with Disabilities plus one or two Carers Day Ticket/Annual Pass, the carer must be 18yrs+. When purchasing a Person with Disabilities plus one or two Carers Annual Pass the carer will be linked to the person with disabilities and only one card will be issued to the person with disabilities and the carer can only enter the Park when the person with disabilities enters.
  • If the person with disabilities needs two carers, a doctors letter stating this also needs to be shown at the entrance upon arrival.
  • We reserve the right to ask for photographic ID if we feel it is needed.
  • We do not have separate entry points or a queue jumping system in place. During the holidays the queues will be long.

Dogs

  • We only allow fully trained Assistance Dogs into the Park. Assistance Dogs must be on a lead or harness and accompanied by the disabled person or another member of the party at all times. Please note that Assistance Dogs will not be allowed to accompany guests onto the rides, into the Pirate’s Cove Paddling Pool or into the Owl Sanctuary for health and safety reasons. Please ensure the dog is left with another member of your group and not left unattended at any time. Assistance Dogs must remain at least 3 metres away from animal exhibits. Dogs undergoing training will not be allowed inside Knockhatch Adventure Park. Proof of training may be requested. No other pets are allowed. We do not have kennels facilities. Please do not leave your dog in your vehicle while you visit.

This toilet can be accessed using a key that you need to ask for at the entrance. In this toilet there is a hoist, height adjustable changing bed for an adult, height adjustable sink and a toilet.
  • We have three disabled toilets. One in Froggies Soft Play, one in the Cannon Arena and one in the outside toilet block.

Rides, Attractions and Queueing

  • Knockhatch Adventure Park is a member of the British Association of Leisure, Piers and Parks (BALPPA) and we will do all that is possible to ensure a safe and pleasurable visit. However, certain rides and attractions at Knockhatch Adventure Park can be physically demanding. Knockhatch Adventure Park therefore reserves the right to refuse admission to certain rides should we feel there is a danger to a particular individual for whatever reason. BALPPA has been advised by the Health and Safety Executive that refusal on the grounds of safety does not constitute discrimination. Knockhatch Adventure Park hopes this is understood and that guests can accept the decision made in the interest of the safety of all.
  • Wherever possible we try to assist visitors with disabilities in accessing our rides and attractions.
  • Not all rides are suitable for all guests and each ride had strict operating requirements. These are set in accordance with external Ride Inspectors’ requirements and exceptions will not be made. Our staff have to follow all rules and restrictions for health and safety reasons therefore please do not ask staff to break these rules; they are there for your safety and for the safety of others.
  • We do not have a system in place that allows anyone to jump any queues.
